From Mole To (Scape)Goat
Sure, try to blame it on the homeless:
The subway track fire in downtown Brooklyn that forced the evacuation of thousands of riders during the evening rush on Wednesday started in a stack of six wooden ties that were being stored in a tunnel, about 15 feet from the track, the authorities said yesterday.
Fire marshals examining the site said they found no evidence of mattresses, clothing or furniture suggesting that homeless people live there, and they rejected initial speculation on Wednesday by other fire investigators that homeless people had left trash and debris that went up in flames.

The fire started north of the De Kalb Avenue station, halting two trains on the Manhattan Bridge and leading to the rescue of nearly 4,000 passengers.
