Red and pink hearts, fanciful flowers and Cupids galore are showing up on so many Staten Island porches, doors, windows and yards, forget using that lame excuse that you didn’t remember Valentine’s Day.
Some practical Islanders even decided not to take down their red Christmas lights, as part of the heartfelt fun.
“I’ve noticed that a lot of people are leaving their red lights up,” said Jodi Sullivan, 36, West Brighton. A self-proclaimed decoration addict, Mrs. Sullivan is one of many on the Island who’ve been smitten.
From heart-shaped lanterns to cupid flags, stores stock their shelves with Valentine goods, and people simply can’t resist.
“The neighborhood knows me [and my house],” Mrs. Sullivan said. “I allow myself to buy one new thing a year.”
