The Question Is Whether A Reasonable Person Would Believe That Your Momma Actually Was A Prostitute
In a litigious society, even Yo Momma jokes are grounds for slander:
The mother of potty-mouthed hip-hop spinner DJ Star dived into a heated battle with her son’s radio rivals yesterday — hitting the owners of station Hot 97 with an $11 million lawsuit for letting one of their disc jockeys bad-mouth her on the air.
Hannah Hightower, a retired schoolteacher, claims she was defamed when Hot 97 personality Miss Jones called her “a prostitute” while taking a shot at Troi Torain, known as DJ Star on Power 105.1.
The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan federal court against Emmis Radio, quotes Jones as saying, “Your white mom was nothing but a prostitute that your dad turned out,” and “got knocked up by the blackest, blackest, blackest n – – – – r.”
(You can say that on the radio?)
