What Did We Just Say About That Smarmy “America’s Dumbest Criminals” Series?
If you’re going to rob people, for heaven’s sake, don’t do it while you’re on the clock:
A Parks Department employee working in Queens was busted early yesterday after he snatched two chains and a watch from a motorist sitting in a parked car, authorities said.
Lewis Wiley, 50, drove up in his green Parks van to the 49-year-old victim, whose identity was not released, sitting in his Toyota SUV by Forest Park near Woodhaven Boulevard.
Wiley allegedly reached his hand through the passenger-side window, pulled the victim’s chains and a Tag Heuer wristwatch at 4:15 a.m., police sources said, then drove off into the park.
Cops found him in an office, where they were able to retrieve the watch. The chains were dropped in the victim’s car during the struggle.
