1310 Surf Avenue, Coney Island, Brooklyn
Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs might be a household name across America, but only visitors to Coney Island, New York are getting the real deal. The dogs sold at franchises and in supermarkets are not the same as those sold at the original location -- they're not even from the same factory.
People line up twenty deep in the summertime for these tubes of mystery meat.
It's fast food, but it's iconic fast food. Keep telling yourself this.
The Bridge and Tunnel Club visits Coney Island often in the warmer months, so it has a well-established Nathan's routine: one chili dog, one dog with sauerkraut, onions cooked in ketchup, and mustard, one medium fries, and a medium lemonade. It's a pity that one of us usually has to prance around in a bikini shortly after consuming this feast.
On a warm summer evening, there's nothing better than taking in the scene and enjoying the breeze while you stuff your face. Southhampton can suck it.
